Port-to-Port Pertingo® Computer Support Service

Pertingo Computer SupportThe Pertingo® Service is the equivalent of hiring a full IT support staff. For a fixed monthly fee per machine, Port-to-Port provides all of the network planning, installation, support, maintenance, and troubleshooting needed to keep your Information System working as an important aspect of your organizational success.

These services are provided through a combination of meetings, telephone calls, onsite visits, and remote access to your Information System. Port-to-Port staff can be involved in every stage of your Information System planning to free you to focus on the core functions of your business.

Pertingo® includes:

Consulting & Business Planning
Port-to-Port will provide the services that would be included in the Chief Information Officer function within your organization. These include organizational Needs Analysis; periodic Information System Review; development and monitoring of an Information System Acceptable Use Policy; establishing Information System Budgets; and handling the Information System strategic and tactical issues related to achieving your organization's short and long term goals.

Integration & Project Management
Port-to-Port will handle all aspects of integrating new technology from specification through selection and installation, including the coordination and management of outside vendors and verification of successful installation.

Help Desk
Port-to-Port will provide first line assistance during the normal business day for troubleshooting and application assistance. This support will directly assist the person with the problem. Once someone has contacted the Help Desk, the problem belongs to Port-to-Port.

Remote Administration and Management
Port-to-Port will use remote access and remote control technologies to provide routine maintenance to your computer network. In addition, remote access will provide the Help Desk with another method of assisting your staff members with immediate problems.

Onsite Visits
For the activities that require direct access to your Information System, Port-to-Port will dispatch skilled technicians to perform preventive maintenance, routine maintenance, and advanced troubleshooting. In addition, technicians will make onsite visits for integration and installation of new computer network capabilities.

Standardization
Port-to-Port will work with you to develop a standard platform for your Information System. This will include, at a minimum, the desktop Operating System; Applications & Versions; and equipment manufacturers. This standardization plan will be implemented in a manner consistent with your IT system upgrade and modification requirements.

Vendor Support
Port-to-Port will become the interface on your behalf with hardware and software vendors. This allows expert technicians to speak their own language as they interact to solve a problem.

Disaster Recovery
Port-to-Port will develop and exercise a disaster recovery plan. This plan will include critical data backup and restore processes.

Training
Port-to-Port will provide just-in-time and one-on-one training for our customers on standard desktop applications. This training is not intended for introducing staff members to new applications. Instead, it is to provide the tricks and tips that make use of the applications more efficient.

Equipment Disposition
One of the growing environmental concerns is the proper disposition of old computer equipment. PCs contain many hazardous materials. In addition, the plastics used in PC manufacture are not biodegradable. Port-to-Port will work with you to move old PCs through a retirement process, starting with resale to staff, then moving through recycling for other community uses, and ending with proper disposition including reclamation or neutralization of hazardous materials.
