I attended a computer industry workshop last week that focused on the emerging concept of Managed Services. This is the industry's realization that service provided in a model like Pertingo® is better for everyone if done properly. Many of my peers were amazed that we've been offering Pertingo for so long. They wanted to know specific details about it and how to transition into a service like it. It made me feel really good about the things we do here at Port-to-Port for each of you. Then someone asked me how much of our new business comes from referral from our clients. I had to tell him that we don't get very many referrals from our clients. Then I started making excuses why our clients wouldn't be in a position to make referrals for us, or how we shouldn't expect that from our relationship with our clients. He told me that I was full of crap! He said if Pertingo® clients are happy with what we do for them, they should be willing to tell the world about us. I told him we hear all the time how happy our clients are with the work and advice we provide to them.

Don't Rush to Get an iPhone
The much awaited Apple iPhone went on the market on June 29th. People lined up around the country to be one of the first to own this clever device. I've had one for the past two weeks and you shouldn't rush out to get one if you want to use it as a business phone. It is, like most things made by Apple, a beautiful device. It fits well in your hand and feels like it costs a few hundred dollars with the optical glass face adding some weight. The finger-only interface is tremendous. I have only two complaints about the hardware. The headphone jack has been recessed into the case so far that typical headsets won't fit into it. Also, the phone causes a lot of static whenever it gets near speakers. It's a phenomenon that happens with many cell phones, but this one is over the top in comparison.
