Microsoft Exchange 2007

2007 is the year that Microsoft is rolling out new versions of its flagship products. No doubt you've heard about Vista by now, even if it's only from the funny Apple commercials. You've probably heard a little bit about the new Office 2007 as well. It will have a significant impact on your productivity. Unfortunately, most of it will be negative in the beginning. The next new version to learn about is Exchange 2007. This is a major change in technology. ...(More)

Small is Big

Mark Twain said, "Many a small thing has been made large by the right kind of advertising." How could he have known what was coming in the world of portable electronics? It seems that everything that can be miniaturized is being miniaturized. Isn't that how we got clocks in every electronic appliance in our homes? Did anyone ever ask to have a clock on their microwave oven, or refrigerator? At any given time, sitting anywhere in my house, I can see at least three clocks. Only one of them is ever just a clock.

Here's my confession: I am a sucker for this tiny stuff. Just tell me that it's the smallest of its kind and I'm reaching for the credit card and rationalizing why I have to have it. The reason I can always see three clocks is that I've purchased all of those devices that were supposed to revolutionize my life and I use them in my never-ending experiment to see how accurately I can know the time. ...(More)

Charles A. Tindley

Students and parents of the Charles A. Tindley Accelerated School are serious. Students and their families commit to a longer school year with longer class periods and days. They commit to a Family Covenant that binds the student, the parents, the educators and the administrators together in the mission and vision of the school. The covenant requires meetings with administrators, the promise to pursue higher education at a selective college, and 50 hours of service over the course of the school year. Students are asked to affirm they will seek additional help when needed - even if it means giving up free time after school or on weekends. Parents pledge to support their child's academic career by communicating with educators, attend meetings and school-sponsored events regularly, volunteering their time throughout the school year, and supporting their student's flexible schedule. ...(More)

Becky Hardwick

She is voice who helps you remotely. She connects to your machine and more often than not, can make the problems go away. She's our own Becky Hardwick - Help Desk Manager.

Becky is a long time Port-to-Port employee. Her tenure began over seven years ago when she shadowed members of the Port-to-Port staff during her spring break from IUPUI. We immediately recognized her initiative and thankfully, she joined the team. Becky is the first level of support for all reported issues. She enjoys helping people and likes to stay busy. Enjoying the challenge of seeing a problem through to resolution and multi-tasking keep Becky motivated. Managing the helpdesk single-handedly helps her stay busy. If it can't be resolved remotely, she passes it to the next level, but not without exhausting all remote solutions.

Staying busy outside of Port-to-Port is not at all hard for Becky. Married for almost 10 years, she is the very proud mother of three beautiful girls, Anya, age 4, Mackenzie - 1½ and Haylen - 1. For our detailed readers, Mackenzie and Haylen are very close - so close in fact they are only days away from the world record of closest births. Becky is starting her first year as coach for her daughter's soccer team. When asked about hobbies, she will chuckle, but she would tell you when she finds free time, she enjoys scrap-booking, decorating, gardening and home renovation.

Becky can be reached directly by calling the Help Desk line at (317) 624-9383, or helpdesk@port-to-port.com. To share any coaching advice, please email her directly at becky@port-to-port.com.
